Test status: PayPal sandbox payments ready; video generation not ready
This status comes from server configuration. Automated preview tests use mocks and do not prove real generation or PayPal payment.
Current readiness
- Google sign-in configuration and database: Ready
- PayPal sandbox checkout: Ready
- Video generation: Not ready
- Real payment and generation: Not ready
The main purchase flow uses Google sign-in on Pricing and needs no password or separate email verification. Authentication: Ready. A PayPal sandbox buyer is a separate account, used only on PayPal’s sandbox checkout page.
Local preview: enter content and inspect the flow
- When the local preview server is running, open the English home page.
- Upload two clear, single-person JPG, PNG, or WebP portraits. Each must be at least 300 pixels and no larger than 10 MB. The photos stay in this browser until submission.
- Photo 1 is the singer by default. Use the button beneath either photo to choose that person. The reference is about 15 seconds and the intended output is about 28 seconds. Then continue; if signed out, the page takes you to packages while preserving your photos and selection.
- Choose a 1, 3, or 10-video package on Pricing; confirm the offer and amount shown before payment. If signed out, use Google sign-in there. After the callback, the selected package is preserved and PayPal checkout resumes automatically. Checkout is blocked until server payment readiness passes; then it connects to the configured PayPal sandbox.
- The optional Google sign-in prompt in the upper-right of the home page can be dismissed without affecting browsing or package selection. The main purchase flow asks for no home-page sign-in; choose a package first, then sign in with Google on Pricing. Email/password remains a legacy manual route outside this purchase flow.
Automated preview command: pnpm exec playwright test --config playwright.raindance-preview.config.ts. The 19 automated flows intercept APIs with Playwright mocks. Only these automated tests simulate checkout; they do not connect to PayPal or generate a real video.
PayPal sandbox payment and video generation are separate tests
PayPal sandbox checkout requires the database, BETTER_AUTH_SECRET, Google OAuth client credentials, PayPal sandbox app credentials, and a registered public HTTPS webhook. Resend is not required for the main flow when Google sign-in is configured. It does not depend on FAL, portrait storage, master video/audio, or measured generation costs. Video generation remains separately gated by those assets, storage, model, and approval requirements; sandbox payment readiness does not mean videos can be generated. Use the readiness status above to see whether manual checkout is currently available.
After setup, use the Personal sandbox buyer account created in PayPal Developer Dashboard on PayPal’s sandbox checkout page. Do not use the Google sign-in account or a real PayPal account. Sandbox funds are virtual. Pass only when the server confirms a COMPLETED capture, credits the matching account once (50/150/500 credits for the 1/3/10-take packages), adds nothing on cancel or failure, and does not credit again after refresh.
